Operating

Through Braga de Macedo Consultores,  established in late 1995, and  TEcFinance, established in early 1997 and bringing together economists and computer science specialists, I operate in international financial markets,

• advising cities and regions seeking to borrow abroad
• providing risk management services and products

Consulting on the political economy of transition

Consulting with international organizations

My experience with international organizations includes several months in the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund in 1978/79 and consulting arrangements with various Departments of the World Bank and of the United Nations.

Since 1995 I have participated in the Forum on Latin American Perspectives held jointly by the Development Center of the OECD and the Office of the Chief Economist of the Inter American Development Bank.

I also have previous consulting experience with the Rockefeller Foundation and the Ford Foundation. From 1988 to 1991, I was member of the Consultative Council of the Luso-American Development Foundation.

Consulting with domestic and international business

I have been adviser to the Strategic Committee of Fundo Fechado Portugal Acções of Deutsche Bank which met in Lisbon on September 17, 1997 and on March 9, 1998 and in Frankfurt on May 26, 1998.

In 1988 I was invited to the consulting board of the Madeira Development Society. I was appointed vice president on March 27, 1998.

In 1976, I became adviser on economic policy to the Confederation of Portuguese Industry, a position I left for Brussels in 1988.
