Acute Beach
Last updated 14 August, 2005

A long and narrow beach, with a fresh water spring on its Southern path, which I found interrupted today, making it impossible to reach the beach except from a Northern route called  Tabueira, shown on the foreground of this picture taken on Christmas' Eve, 1997 by afreitas@pasteur.fr.
The sand area increased dramatically in mid-January, 2002 and reached its peak on 29 March, as shown in a picture taken by Jorge Sá Pessoa, who then lost it. We spent New Years´ Eve 200 at his house in Azenhas and the next day walked to Aguda, taking pictures galore during the party (Helia and Luiza), along the path (caminho 90, 91 and 92 featuring Patricia, the Iberian woman, and Luis Tierno, after whom the beach has since been named) and on the cliff overhead (topo 94 and 95 featuring one Jorge each). According to 93 year old Dona Ermelinda, the beaches going North from Azenhas (where she resides) are: Asvideira, Carrado do Mato, Azeite Amarelo, Arriba Quebrada, Laredo das Pias, Raposinho. On 7 August, 2005, the discvovery and labeling of Ana's string and Jorge's stone happened very near here, but we knew not then what tomorrow would bring, to quote Fernando Pessoa....
